Time Marches On

As I sit, sipping hot coffee in my living room, while listening to the morning thunderstorm outside, I can't help to wonder at the past year and a half.

This past weekend was spent celebrating and graduating from Culinary School. I have sadly neglected this blog that was intended to document all the stories from school and my new job, but alas, they are all cataloged in my memory now. Hopefully, I can remember them for stories later but we'll see.

Right now, the questions are thick. What do I do now? Where do we go from here?

When I stop to think about where the next few years could take me, I have no idea. I can't even imagine really, because the last couple have been so far beyond my imagination.

Saturday was a day to remember. When I arrived at the location for the graduation ceremony, I got into the line for my hat and medallion, etc. I had noticed my friend Felicia, who was standing with me, was wearing red tassels. When I went through the line, I was handed silver tassels. I realized that this was proof of my hard work. Silver was to signify Magna Cum Laude. I had completely forgotten that I had done so well in school. I can put that on my resume as well.

I felt so honored and proud, as I stood with the other students that were graduating. Listening to the speakers and turning around now and then to waive and smile at my family members and dear friends who came to support me. They took up more than a whole row.

I am not positive what the future holds, but I have been so honored, blessed and loved by my family that in some ways, it doesn't matter. They would support me no matter what!

So Thanks go out to my loving parents, Richard and Alison Green.
My dear sisters, Elisabeth, Rebekah, Rachel and Deborah.
My Big Brother David and his awesome wife Julia, who threw me the best graduation pool party ever, margarita machine and all!
All my precious nephews and nieces, Thomas, Kyle, Calvin, Owen, Samuel, Claire, Megan and Naomi.
My friends who, as I said Saturday, kept me insane or sane, (as needed!) Amy, Melinda and Krista.
My co-workers, Sarah Bell, Victor, Carol Ann, Chris, who keep work so much more than just work.
My Chefs Bradford and J, who have taught me so much in one year.

So Thanks.
